Good evening, Eagle families. This is your principal, Ms. Palmer, with weekly announcements for the November 11th through November 15th. There will be no school on Monday, November 11th, in observance of Veterans Day. We want to take this opportunity to recognize and thank all veterans and active military members in our school community for their service. We honor and deeply appreciate the sacrifices made by you and your families. We will celebrate Career Development Month this week by participating in a spirit week. Tuesday will be College Day, Wednesday will be dress as your dream job, Thursday will be crazy socks, and Friday will be bright or neon colors. We will continue with our PBIS Lollipop fundraiser. All funds raised will help support various PBIS student incentives throughout the year. On Thursday, our third graders will be participating in a field trip to Imagination Station, and K-1 students will go to see Frosty at ECC on Friday. Please help us give thanks to our amazing G.W. Carver staff by completing a Thankful Turkey form for any staff member. The form can be found on Facebook and the ECPS app. Enjoy your long weekend. We will see our Eagles on Tuesday morning. Good evening, Eagle families. This is your principal, Ms. Palmer, with updates for the week of November 4th through November 8th. The PBIS committee will host a lollipop sale from November 4th to November 15th. Students can purchase a lollipop for $1. All money raised will help support our quarter PBIS incentives and celebrations. Our 3rd graders will take their math check-in on Monday, November 4th, and 5th graders will take their reading check-in on Monday, November 4th. We will host our next PTO meeting on November 4th at 6:00 p.m. in the media center. For those who are interested in participating virtually, a Google Meet link will be shared through the ECPS app. Our 4th graders will take their math check-in on Tuesday, November 5th. November 5th is also the last day of our G.W. Carver shirt sales. Please make sure to place your order for the newest Eagle swag. 4th and 5th graders will attend the NC Symphony at Edgecombe Community College on Wednesday, November 6th. Families, here are a few transportation updates for this afternoon: Buses 403 and 408 have sub drivers on them. Thank you for your patience! Bus 407 will be split between two buses, 389 and 343. If you live on the 258 side of the route, your child will be on 343. If you live in Fox Hollow, your child will be on 389.

Good evening, Eagle families. This is your principal, Ms. Palmer, with updates for the week of October 28th through November 1st. This week will be Bike Safety Week at G.W. Carver from October 28 to November 1. Students can bring their bikes on their designated PE days. Just a reminder: please drop off your bikes in the back parking lot (next to the bus parking) Our Sunshine committee is holding a shirt fundraiser; please show your Eagle pride by ordering the newest design. Orders are due November 5th. On Tuesday, October 29th, report cards will come home with our K-5 students. Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students begin our district check-ins. On Wednesday, October 30th, 5th graders will take their math check-in, and on Thursday, October 31st, 3rd and 4th graders will take their ELA check-in. We will continue testing the following week with 3rd-grade math check-ins and 5th-grade reading on Monday, November 4th, and 4th-grade math check-ins on Tuesday, November 5th. Candyman Orders have Arrived! Our Candyman orders have arrived and are ready to be picked up. Please plan on picking up your child's order today (10/23) until 3:45 p.m., tomorrow (10/24) from 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., or on the teacher planning day Friday (10/25) from 7:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There will be a delay in receiving wrapping paper due to Hurricane Helene's damage to Western NC.

This week, we will recognize Red Ribbon Week with a Life is a Movie, Film Drug-Free Spirit Week. On Monday, Rock the Red Carpet by wearing red; on Tuesday, dress to impress by wearing your best superstar outfit; on Wednesday, team up against drugs and wear your favorite sports team attire; and on Thursday, support each other and stay drug-free by dressing like a twin with a friend. Thursday, 10/24, a select group of fourth-grade students will take the fall Read to Achieve test. Friday, October 25th, is a teacher planning day, so there will be no school for students. We look forward to seeing our Eagles dressed in red on Monday. Soar high, Eagles!
