Policies & Procedures
Dress Code
All students at G.W. Bulluck are required to follow the Edgecombe County Schools Dress Code. We also ask that the children wear comfortable shoes that are appropriate and safe for gym classes, recess, and for walking quietly in the halls. Tennis shoes or sneakers seem to offer the most comfort and safety for our students.
Clothing and appearance must be age-appropriate, not disruptive to the teaching-learning process, and cannot be provocative, vulgar, or obscene.
All clothing must be appropriately sized for the student. Baggy, saggy, and/or extra-long pants and oversized clothing are not permitted.
Clothing and/or accessories that are associated with gangs or other disruptive groups are not permitted.
Accessories and/or adornments such as bandanas, headgear, rhinestones, airbrushing, decorative buckles, long chains, large earrings, facial piercings, etc. are not permitted.
Hats, sweatbands, bandanas, or sunglasses will not be worn inside the school buildings.
Shorts, skirts, and dresses must be of adequate length to reach the ends of one’s fingertips when the student is standing and the arms are by one’s sides. If a student’s pants have a “distressed” or ripped effect, any holes in the pants exposing skin must not be above the knee.
Spaghetti straps are not permitted unless worn with a sweater or jacket.
Footwear is required. Bedroom shoes are not allowed. Students in physical education classes must wear athletic shoes.
