Welcome to second grade. My name is Mrs. Robin Amerson. I am incredibly excited to be a part of the GW Bulluck Second Grade Team again this year, but more importantly your child’s teacher. I know it’s going to be the best year I’ve ever had.
I was born in Pitt County but moved to Edgecombe County while in middle school. I am a 1995 graduate of SouthWest Edgecombe High School and 1999 graduate of East Carolina University. In 2005, I received my National Board Certification as well. The 2015-2016 school year will be my 18th year teaching in Edgecombe County. I have a lifelong passion for children and their learning.
I am married to my best friend, soulmate, and number one supporter. His name is Mark Amerson. Mark works full time with Firestone but also works part time with the City of Rocky Mount Sports Complex. Mark and I both share a love of sports and children. We have a total of 5 children now. Three are my own, Cole 16, Caley 15, Clayton 14, and two are stepchildren, Courtney 22 and Brandon 24. I also have a poodle named Trigger. When we all get together, we could be called the Brady Bunch. I wouldn’t change it for the world!
I am a very open person, please feel free to talk to me about any concerns you may have this school year. I have an open door policy. I am willing to set up conference times when necessary. However, I do not like to hold parent conferences during class time. You will have my phone number and email. Please feel free to contact me. I will respond as quickly as I can.
I’m excited and ready to begin the school year. I believe in a child’s parents/guardians being a significant part of a student’s life. With home and school working together, we will have a great year. We both want the very best from each other.
